Y Gymdeithas Ddeintyddol is the premier professional body dedicated to supporting dentists and dental care professionals in providing oral healthcare through the medium of the Welsh language. Established in 1991, the Society serves as a vital hub for clinical discussion, bilingual resource development, and the promotion of dental careers for the next generation of practitioners across Wales.
Y Gymdeithas Ddeintyddol required a sophisticated digital ecosystem to unify their growing network of dental professionals and provide a modern platform for their extensive library of Welsh-language resources. They needed a website that could effectively bridge the gap between seasoned clinical practitioners and students entering the field, while serving as the definitive voice for Welsh-medium dentistry.
The Society sought a professional, bilingual interface that would elevate their status as a key partner to organizations like HEIW (Health Education and Improvement Wales). A primary objective was to streamline access to their “Dental Dictionary” and clinical leaflets, ensuring that dental teams across Wales could easily download and share accredited materials with their patients in their native tongue.
We worked closely with the Society’s leadership to build a site that celebrates their 30-year heritage of fostering professional excellence. The bespoke design integrates a dedicated “Careers and Students” hub, providing mentorship opportunities and guidance for GCSE and A-Level students, alongside a robust events system for their Annual Study Days and conferences.
Since the launch, the website has become an essential utility for the Welsh dental community. By digitizing their specialized resources and award programs, the Society has seen a marked increase in engagement from newly qualified dentists and a more efficient distribution of bilingual clinical tools to practices nationwide.
